Martin Luther Roberts, Jr.

Martin L. Roberts, Jr., 84, of Vidor died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. A native of Abilene, TX., he has lived in Clyde, TX., for 49 years before moving to Vidor 6 months ago. He was a self-employed contractor for many years, and was a hotel owner. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Vidor Glory Church of God under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents Martin, Sr and Vernia Roberts, and his son Michael Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Elaine Roberts of Vidor, sons Martin Roberts, III of Lumberton, TX., and Kenneth Roberts of Abilene, TX., daughter, Brenda Higgins of Vidor, sister Hazel Johnson of Clyde, TX., thirteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
