Stanford, 81, of Vidor died Monday, July 19, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. A native of Alexandria, LA., she was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA., before moving to Vidor in 1983. Mary Lou was a retired employee at Chennault Air Force Base in Lake Charles and a retired bookkeeper for Ace Bowling and Billiards. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 23, 2004 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial services to follow at 3:00 p.m. at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Vidor. With a Christian Vigil to begin at 7:00 p.m. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years Lester R. “Whitey” Stanford, and her brother, W.J. “Bill” Barnhill. She is survived by her daughters, Anita Bodman of Houston, TX., and Gaynell Clement of Mauriceville, TX., sisters, Cecilia Loescher of Mauriceville, TX., and Bonnie Haydel of Houma LA., four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
