Matthew Irvin Saunders

Matthew Irvin Saunders, 47, a longtime resident of Vidor, passed away on Sunday, November 9th, 2014 in Anadorka, Oklahoma. He loved football and was a loyal Pittsburg Steelers fan, played golf, enjoyed washers, and NASCAR. He loved being outdoors; Matt especially loved spending quality time with his family and friends and loved everyone. Matt is survived by his wife, Cori, daughter, Carey Saunders, and son, Codey Saunders, stepchildren Corey Marnik, Lars Saunders, Joseph Williams, Stephani Hughes, and five grandchildren, Laikney Williams, Braylyn Hughes Karrsen Bivins, Jacob Griffin, and Jordan Williams. He is also survived by his sisters Kitty Ann and husband Dennis Prouse, Donita and husband Shorty Simmons, Patricia Goodwill, Sue and husband Billy Taylor all of Vidor, Texas, brothers Chuck and wife Mary Saunders, Raymond and Robert Saunders all of Vidor, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Matthew is preceded in death by his parents Charles Irvin and Dolores Saunders. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with interment to follow at Del-Rose Cemetery in Vidor.
