Melvin Franklin Chesser

Melvin Chesser, 77, of Vidor died Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, TX, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Melvin was a retired Pipefitter with Local Union #195 and is a member of North Main Church of Christ in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home. Melvin is survived by his wife Mary Chesser of Vidor, TX, sons Doug Chesser, David and Jimmy Hight all of Vidor, TX, daughter Lori Odom of Vidor, TX, brothers Donald Chesser of Beaumont, TX, James and Wayne Chesser both of Vidor, TX, Carl Chesser of Fannett, TX, sisters Loretta Byerly, Nora Mae Darden, and Ilene Ramsey all of Vidor, TX, Lynda Sarver of the Dallas Area, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
