Miguel Paul 'Mike' Valdez

Mike Valdez, 58, of Vidor died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he has lived in Vidor for 7 years, and was a welder with Ram-Tech/LA Resources. He was an avid guitar player since the age of 15. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with entombment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and a Christian Vigil to begin at 7:00 pm on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. Mike was preceded in death by his father Angel Valdez. He is survived by his wife Athena Valdez of Vidor, daughters Summer Melancon of Vidor, and Keisha Tennefrancia and husband Eli of Austin, mother Shirley Valdez of Beaumont, brothers Gabriel Valdez of Beaumont, Ralph Valdez of Vidor, and Manuel Valdez of Beaumont, sisters Mary Andreau of Miami, FL., and Gloria Khoshgadami of Orange Park, FL., and two grandchildren: Jadon Tennefrancia and Ashley Wise.
