Mildred Marie Simon Leblanc Page

January 26, 1923 — February 24, 2014

Mildred “Millie” Page, 91, always the sweet, strong caregiver, went to Heaven on angels’ wings on Monday, February 24, 2014. She was born in Andrew, La., on January 26, 1923. She moved to Abbeville, La., where she met and married Wilmer “Tut” LeBlanc, creator of the Catholic cartoon “A Little Altar Boy Named Speck,” in 1943. She moved to Texas after his death in 1952, where she later met and married Aubrey Love Page in Beaumont. They lived in Beaumont where she worked for several doctors’ offices and clinics. She and Aubrey and their children moved to Vidor in 1963. Upon his death in 1968, in order to be able to support herself and her children, she decided she would go back to school and earn her LVN license. Millie worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Beaumont and also worked as a private duty nurse in Houston. Millie nursed and took care of many family members and friends during her lifetime. When she retired, she moved back home to Vidor where she remained until she was called to Heaven. Millie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafts and quilting, but more than anything else in the world, she loved spending time with her children and family and her beloved cat, Libby. She loved the singing, dancing and family trips to Houston, Crystal Beach and Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel Simon and Estelle Simon Istre, and her sisters, Beatrice Simon Miere and Mamie Simon Miere. She is survived by her children, Lyle LeBlanc, Molly LeBlanc Dorsey, Perry Page, Johnny Page and wife, Marian, and Mary Page Cooksley; grandchildren, Chris LeBlanc and wife Tanya, Jason Dorsey, Allison Cooksley Vasquez, Jessica Page, Jonathan LeBlanc, Jason Page, Jamie Page and Valena Page; great-grandchildren Jesse LeBlanc, Travis LeBlanc, Sue Ann LeBlanc and Torrance Richardson; and her brother, Louis Simon and his daughters, Judy, Pat, Brenda and Kathy. The family would like to express their thanks to her grandson, Chris, and his wife, Tanya, and their three children, Jesse, Travis and Sue Ann, for the special care they gave “Granny” for the last several years of her life. She will be missed until we see her again in Heaven.
