Monroe "Moonie" Phillip Johnson

Monroe "Moonie" Johnson, 75, of Vidor died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, A native of Bismark, ND, he was a resident in Illinois and Tennessee before moving to Vidor 12 years ago. Monroe retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Plant in Freeport, Il after 34 years. He served his country during the Korean War in The US Army as a MP (Military Police). Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home. Monroe is survived by his wife of 52 years Pat Johnson of Vidor, TX, daughters Cindy Lee Neels and Daneen Frances Schmurr both of Vidor, TX, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, brothers Duane Johnson of Oregon and Orvil Johnson of Georgia, sisters Nona Van Horn of Rockford, IL and Loretta Shianna of Florida.
