Monte Cristo Croom

Monte C. Croom, 89, of Vidor died Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Vidor Manor Nursing Home. Born March 11, 1917 in Elton, LA, son of Monte Cristo Croom, Sr. and Eva Joubert He was a longtime resident of Vidor and was a retired Pipefitter with Local Union #195. Monte was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #1420 and a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home. Monte was preceded in death by his parents and wife Mary Bernice Croom. He is survived by his son: Jack Croom of Vidor, TX, daughter: Linda Gilbert of Beaumont, TX, brothers: Jack Croom and his wife Louise of Spring, TX, Archie Croom and his wife Maxine of Nederland, TX, grandchildren: Mark Marshall and his wife Janice of Orangefield, TX, Andy Marshall of Vidor, TX, Ty Croom and his wife Kora of Houston, TX, Michael Croom and his wife Bonnie of Vidor, TX, Susan LaVergne and her husband Donald of Vidor, TX, and 10 great-grandchildren.
