Nathan Marvin Abshire

Nathan M. Abshire, 74, of Buna died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Renaissance Hospital in Groves, Texas. A native Ged, LA., he was raised in Nederland, and has lived in Buna since 1971, and was a retired self-employed machinists with Nathans Machine Shop. He was a 20 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the families residence. Nathan was preceded in death by his brother L.J. Abshire. He is survived by his wife of 55 + years Marie Abshire of Buna, sons Craig Abshire and wife Susan of Mauriceville, Terry Abshire and girlfriend Natalie DeFrancisco all of Buna, sisters Edith Romero of New Iberia, LA., and Juanita Benoit of Baldwin, LA., three grandchildren: Krystal Weiss, Cara Abshire, and Kaleigh Abshire, one great granddaughter Lucy Weiss, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Orange Unit, 755 S. 11th St, Ste 212, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
