Newell N. Britt, 79 of Vidor died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at his residence in Vidor. A native of Mitchell, LA., he has resided in Vidor since 1949. Newell was a retired boilermaker with Local Union # 587. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with entombment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at the funeral home. Newell is survived by his wife of 55 years Thelma “Pat” Luman Britt of Vidor, TX., sons: Roger Dale Britt, Dennis Melvin Britt, Nathan Lynn Britt, Mark Allen Britt all of Vidor, TX., daughters: Connie Sue Watson of Vidor, TX., Deborah Gale Ragsdale of Daingerfield, TX., brothers: Huey P. Hayes Mitchell, LA., Alton Hayes, Utah, Travis Hayes of Shreveport, LA., sisters: Marjorie Ott of Mitchell, LA., Avis Hayes Perello of Beaumont, TX., 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
