Norma Faye Smith

Norma Faye "Sissy" Smith, 59, of Vidor, died Friday, November 19th, 2021 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. She was a lifelong resident of Vidor and longtime member of Turning Point Church in Vidor. She worked for the Vidor Independent School District for a while as well as for the City of Vidor as the city secretary. She did book keeping and accounts payable for them. Everyone affectionately knew her as "Sissy" except for her grandchildren who knew her as Nana. She loved photography, drinking coffee, gardening, cleaning, studying the bible, and most importantly spending time with her family. Cremation arrangements are entrusted with Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. She is survived by her husband of 31 years Billy Smith of Vidor, TX sons Toby Thibodeaux of Vidor, TX, Brandon Powell of Southern Pines, NC, and Jonathan Smith of Vidor, TX, mother Dorothy Powell, brothers: Grant Powell of Silsbee, TX, James Powell of Vidor, TX, Greg Powell of Vidor, TX, Gary Powell of Vidor, TX, and sister Laura Jackson of Vidor, TX, 3 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Grant Roosevelt Powell Sr. and brother Timothy Michael Powell.
