Norma Jean Rachal

Norma J. Rachal, 79, of Vidor went peacefully while at home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Norma was born on November 1, 1934 in Trinity, Texas. She was the first daughter of five children of the late Helen Beatrice Bacon and Herbert Theo Gilbert. A native of Trinity, TX., she has lived in Vidor for 57 years, and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, brother Herbert Gilbert, Jr., and granddaughter Amy Diane Williamson. Norma is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years Joseph Herman Rachal, daughter Regana Williamson and husband Clyde all of Vidor, brothers Chester Arnold Gilbert and wife Marilyn of Cypress, TX., and Russell Gilbert and wife Jane of Sugar Land, TX., sister Edna 'Tootsie' Hansford of Vidor, sister-in-law Bonnie Gilbert of Trinity, two granddaughters: Brianne and husband Chadd Cassell, and Shana and husband Phillip Loya of Houston, two great granddaughters: Molly and Maddison Cassell, and a number of other relatives.
