Patricia Eileen Arnold Peterson

Patricia Eileen Arnold Peterson, a lifelong Vidor native, was born January 11, 1943 in Beaumont, Texas. From that day on, she didn’t meet a stranger whom she didn’t include in her circle of friends. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, great-grandmother, great-aunt, and so much more in her family. Patricia was an involved community member from a young age. Between her civic activities and working at her father’s auto parts house, she came to know and love all the residents of Vidor. She later influenced the lives of students, parents, and coworkers alike through her decades of teaching elementary school. Though she experienced much pain and loss, she always loved others and gave of herself and her resources. Patricia died on July 12, 2020 at 12:30pm, at Harbor Hospice Center in Beaumont, TX. She was 77 years old, surrounded by close family. She is survived by her daughter, Jami Law Poteet (and husband Benny Poteet); brother, Johnny Arnold (and his wife Linda Peck Arnold); three grandchildren, James Law, Alexandria Poteet Barney, and Dalton Poteet; one great granddaughter, Jane Barney; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by many family members, including her parents, J.C. Arnold Sr. and Eva Pearl Peveto Arnold; her husband, Frank Peterson; her son, Jay Law; and her grandson, Jacob Law. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.
