Raymond Galaviz

Raymond Galaviz, 83, of Vidor died June 5, 2016 at Vidor Health and Rehab Center. He was a native and a lifelong resident of Vidor. Raymond learned mechanizing at a very young age working at Red's Garage in Vidor, he was a heavy equipment mechanic for Equipment Headquarters in Beaumont. Later in life he became a self contracted welder with several of the refineries. Raymond was an avid fisherman and hunter. He served his country in the US Army. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm and visitation begins at 6:00 p m Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Luis and Juanita Galaviz, and brother Luis Galaviz Jr. He is survived by his step-son Larry Joe Johnson of Killeen, TX, brothers David and Richard Galaviz of Vidor, TX, Phillip and Manual Galaviz of Maysville, OK, and Paul Galaviz of Zachary, LA, sisters Theresa Fielder, Lenora Brown and Vickie Adams of Vidor, TX, Virginia Mendoza of Beaumont, TX, Juanita Orena of San Antonio, TX, Alice Graham of Austin, TX, Mary Brown of Kerrville, TX, and Helen Galaviz of Colorado Springs, CO.
