Bob Blackwell, 88, of Mauriceville died Sunday, December 3, 2006 at The Meadows Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Orange, TX. A native of Dekalb, TX., he has lived in Mauriceville for 21 years and was a retired self-employed electrician. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WW II. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Anahuac Cemetery in Anahuac, TX. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his parents Rufus Blackwell and Leola Blackwell Baker, brother Buddy Baker, and sisters Estella Wiggins, and Viola Wiggins. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Bell Blackwell of Mauriceville, sons James Harold Blackwell of Lumberton, Bobby Blackwell of Amarillo, TX., John Paul Blackwell of Houston, Tommy Blackwell of Booneville, MO., and Wayne Blackwell of Sour Lake, daughters Linda Jean Duke of Lumberton, Marilyn Blackwell of Houston, and Carol Ann Black of Lumberton, he is also survived by Bell’s children: Patsy Chambers of Bridge City, Agnes Chambers of Milam, TX., Linda Cobb of Orange, and Charles Miller of Bridge City, brothers Cecil Baker of Colorado, and Bob Baker of Mena, AR., twenty-eight grandchildren, and forty-seven great grandchildren.
