Robert Ezell Simmons

Robert E. Simmons, 82, of Groves died Sunday, November 22, 2009 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas. A native of Kurthwood, LA., he has lived in Groves since 1981, and was a retired salesman with ITT Henze Services. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Robert was preceded in death by his son Robert Eric Simmons, and his brother Willis Henry Simmons, Jr.. He is survived by his sons Mark Simmons and wife Renee of The Woodlands, TX., Brent Simmons and wife Bonnie of Sugarland, TX., Scott Simmons and wife Tracie of Houston, TX., daughters Karen Horn and husband Michael of Baytown, Martha Gooch of Vidor, Myra Lydia Simmons and fianc Vincente Rodriguez of Alvin, TX., brothers Rhett Simmons of Chandler, TX., Charles Simmons of Hemphill, TX., sister Ruth Woods of Hemphill, TX., six grandchildren: Alex Simmons, Cullen Simmons, Shay Simmons, Lane Simmons, Ian Holcomb, and Spence Simmons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made In Memory of Robert E. Simmons, to Northwest Baptist Church of Vidor General Fund, 345 Fillmore St., Vidor, Texas 77662.
