Roland John Champagne, Sr.

Roland J. Champagne, Sr., 73, of Beaumont died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at East Texas Medical Center in Carthage, Texas. A native of Breaux Bridge, LA., Roland was a longtime resident of Beaumont, and a retired Longshoreman with ILA Local #21. Roland was a longtime member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Fillmore Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 and at 8:30 a.m. till service time on Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home. Roland was preceded in death by his son Stanley Roy Milner, parents Cyrus and Viola Champagne. Roland is survived by his wife Glenda Champagne of Beaumont, sons Roland John Champagne, Jr and wife Nancy of Vidor, Ricky Champagne and wife Carol of Clarksville, TN., Robert Champagne of Long Island, NY., Ryan Champagne, Sr and wife Melinda of Vidor, and Randy Champagne of Vinton, LA., sisters Mary Nell Greenwalt of Vidor, Betty Thibodeaux, Yvonne Guidry, and Lorrie Tauzin all of Breaux Bridge, LA., god-child Roy Campbell, Jr of Vidor, ten grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be his five sons, and his god-child, serving as honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
