Rose Marie Dorchuck

Rose Marie Reich Dorchuck, age 56, former Vidor, TX native, of Kosciusko, MS and Houston, TX passed away peacefully on the morning of April 13, 2009. She will be missed by her loving husband, Phillip Dorchuck and her daughter, Catherine Dorchuck of Houston, Texas. Her loving family includes Lou Ann Bayne of San Antonio, TX; Russell Reich of Vidor, TX; Ruth Duncan of Vidor, TX; Rocky Reich of Vidor, TX; Robin Somogyi of San Antonio, TX; and Ronnie Reich of Vidor, TX. She will be missed by tons of family and friends not listed here. Rose was a very special person who loved everyone with whom she came into contact. Her devotion to the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries and their exemplary service work with underprivileged children was apparent by the 15 years of service. Her accomplishments include Kosciusko Chapter President, Regional Director, 2nd National Vice-President, National Treasurer for NAJA. She was named Woman of the Year by the Star-Herald in Kosciusko, MS. Rosie believed in working. She owned The Rose Petal in Baytown, Texas where she was a hairstylist. She owned and operated Caf on the Square in Kosciusko, MS where she was known for her wonderful food and fabulous desserts. She published her own cookbook, A Pinch of Rose and A Cup of Charm from Caf on the Square. She also started Roses Gourmet Specialties, a gourmet food line which she designed. When not working, Rose and Phil spent many days travelling all-over the place. Her favorite stops were Alaska, Wyoming and every NASCAR race that they could get tickets.
In lieu of flowers and plants, please give generously to National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, 845 S. Main St., Greenville, MS 38702. The services will be at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, located at 1750 Hwy 12, Vidor, TX 77662. Family visitation will be Tuesday, April 14th at 5 p.m. Visitation will be from 6 9 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday April 15th .
