Roy E. Wade Jr, 76, of Vidor died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was born August 19, 1934 in Beaumont. Roy graduated from South Park in 1953 where he participated in sports. He received a baseball scholarship to Texas A&M and then served a tour of duty in the US Army as a medic in the Korean War. He retired in 1984 from National Car Rentals as Vice President & General Manager of the Golden Triangle. He was a director in the Beaumont Jaycees and a member of the Y.M.B.L. He also was a sponsor of the Beaumont Golden Gloves and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed the fellowship and many golf travels with his golfing Pals. He enjoyed the many fishing trips he & Shirley spent with their friends at their camp on Sam Rayburn. Roy was preceded in death by his parents Roy & Wilma Wade, Sr., daughter Tammy Wade, mother & father in-law Mattie & Orval Crocker. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Shirley Wade, sister Dixie Trahan, niece Melissa Dupuy, nephews Brian Franks, Joey Dupuy and his wife Wendy, 2 great nieces, 1 great nephew and 1 great great niece. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home.
