Ruby Doris Smith

Ruby D. "Ladner" Smith, 93 died Saturday, July 11th, 2015 in Beaumont. She was a longtime resident of Vidor who loved to cook and was very involved with the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W., E. Harvey Horn, Post 8246 in Vidor. She also loved to spend time with her friends and especially her family and will be greatly missed. Ruby is survived by 2 sons, John R. Smith, Sr. and wife Joyce of Vidor, and Max A. Smith of Baytown, brother, Samuel C. Ladner of Lakeshore, MS, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, George C. Smith, Sr., son, George C. Smith, Jr., daughter, Ruby Joyce Smith LaBove, grandson, Randall LaBove, great grandson, Aaron Blake Bailey, great granddaughter, Lauren Hartness, 2 brothers, Rudolph "Doc" C. Ladner and Luther "Buck" C. Ladner and sister, Eunice J. Petkovsek. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
