Ruth Irene Jaster

Ruth I. Jaster, 85, of Vidor died Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. A native of McKeesport, PA., she has lived in Vidor since 1951, and was a meter reader with Gulf States Utilities in Vidor. She was a car hop with the Pigstand, graduate of South Park class of 1944, a member of the City of Vidor Planning Committee, and an active member of First United Methodist Church of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at 3:00 pm at Hill Cemetery in Round Top, Texas. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Willis Jaster, parents John and Helen Jones, Sr., brother John R. Jones, Jr., and her sister Mary Louise Humphrey. She is survived by her son Wayne Jaster and wife Judy Boyd Jaster of Kountze, daughters Dorothy Steele and husband Colbert and Sherry Jaster Smith both of Vidor, brother Charles S. Jones of Vidor, five grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Vidor, 501 N. Main St., Vidor, Texas 77662.
