Philo Phillips, 87, of Vidor died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at his residence. A native of Merryville, La, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Philo retired as a supervisor from Mobile Chemical in Beaumont after 42 years and was a member of AFLCIO local union. Philo was an avid fisherman and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Kirbyville City Cemetery in Kirbyville, TX at 4:00 pm.. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, May 7, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home. Philo is survived by his sons Steve J. Phillips and his wife Betty of Breaux Bridge, LA, Paul D. Phillips and his wifeTerri of Vidor, TX, brothers Roy Phillips of Kirbyville, TX, and Lawrence "Skipper" Phillips of Lumberton, TX, daughter-in-law Beth Phillips of Vidor, TX, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife Lula Jo Phillips, son Bobby Phillips and brother Max Phillips.
