Sharon Simmons

Sharon Simmons, age 79, a cherished resident of Vidor, passed away on Sunday, March 17th, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, TX. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Vidor, TX, where her unwavering faith was evident in her devout involvement. Sharon had a generous spirit and found joy in helping others, always engaging in heartfelt conversations with family and friends. In her younger years, she embraced the thrill of barrel racing and enjoyed attending rodeos. Sharon also had a passion for antiquing, finding beauty in old treasures. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with a memorial service to be held in her honor at a later date. She is survived by her daughter Robyn Gilmore and husband Troy of Spring Valley, CA, daughter-in-law Angie Dupree of Vidor, TX, as well as 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband James "JT" Thomas Simmons, son Jason Dupree, and brother Gordon Olson.
