Suzan Lynn Smith

Suzan Lynn Smith, 56 was born July 27, 1955 in North Kingston, Rhode Island and later moved to Vidor, Texas where she raised a family and lived the rest of her days.  She passed away 12/27/11 fighting cancer surrounded by family, in the comfort of Oakwood Nursing Home.  She enjoyed cooking, the outdoors, listening to music, and spending time with family.  She was a very caring and loving person always putting everyone else’s needs above her own.  She was survived by her five children, Michelle Halbert of Vidor, Mark Smith (Keri) of Vidor, Chris Smith  (Jonia) of El Paso, Shelia Popwell (Daniel) of Trussville, Al, and Christina Chatelain (Mike)  of Lumberton, two sisters, Kathy Smith (Paul)  of Vidor, Dorothy Carter (Bobby)  of Silsbee, sixteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends.  She will be greatly missed.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Julie and Ben Rogers Cancer Institute.
