Theresa Rae Guidry Sykes

Theresa R. Sykes, 70, of Nederland died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at her residence. A native of Port Arthur, she was a retired longtime resident of Nederland. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, were she served as eucharistic minister, adult altar server, a member of the Legion of Mary, and a member of the bereavement committee. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. and a Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home . Theresa was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Sykes Castle Davis, and her parents Jule and Lucile Guidry. She is survived by her son Michael Sykes and wife Karen of Pasadena, TX., daughters Deborah Moore and husband Rex of Vidor, and Julie Hebert and husband Lindy of Nederland, brother Frank Guidry and wife Mary of Nederland, twelve grandchildren, and one great grandchild. We love you Mama and you will be in our hearts forever.
