Tom Townsend

Tom Pendleton Townsend III, 71, of Broaddus, TX, died Thursday, June 3rd, 2021 at Harbor Hospice House. He was a longtime resident of Vidor but lived in Broaddus for the past few years. He was a retired steelworker with North Star, he worked countless hours with Make a Wish foundation, and was also a volunteer firefighter in Powell Park, TX. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Vidor Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rites. Cremation arrangements are entrusted with Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor and the family will have a memorial service at a later date. He is survived by his daughters Rebecca and husband Greg Melanson of Vidor, TX, Cindy and Marcus Ferguson of Tampa, FL, Amanda Townsend of Beaumont, TX, and Mauryanna Crawford of Cornelius, NC, siblings Mary Thomas of OH, Mike Townsend of Ashland, KY, Vicki Frazier of OH, Tammy Knight of OH, grandchildren Tom Melanson, Gerrad Melanson, Hannah Hill, and Chloe Melanson. He was preceded in death by his sister Terrie Townsend. In lieu of flowers make donation to Make a Wish.
