Travis J. Bowen, 79, of Vidor died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Sulphur Springs, Texas, he has lived in Vidor since 1946 and was a parts sales representative with International Harvestor. He was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Vidor. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 23, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. Travis was preceded in death by his sister Elmie Ayers. He is survived by his wife Lucille Bowen, son Karlon Bowen both of Vidor, daughters Nancy Abernathy of Copperas Cove, TX., and Teresa Jackson of Vidor, brothers Truett Bowen of Vidor, J. W. Bowen, Jr of Lumberton, and Lewis Bowen of Port Arthur, sister, Dorothy Dewitt of Vidor, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one on the way.
