Velma Louise Borel

Velma Louise Borel, 82, died Tuesday, July 21st, 2015. She was a longtime resident of the Golden Triangle area before settling down and making her home in Vidor. She was a member of the Pirate Sam Travel Club of Vidor and also of Community Church of Orange. Velma loved spending quality time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Earl Borel, a daughter, Pam Dixon and husband John of Brookeland, TX, 2 sons, Dannie Borel and wife Debbie of Bridge City, and Troy Borel of Vidor. Velma is also survived by a brother, Clerphe Barnabas Gaspard, 6 grandchildren, Allen Dixon, Brandy Falls, J.J. Dixon, Derrick Borel, Jason Dixon, and Dillon Borel, 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
