Versie Frederick, 76, of Vidor died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. A native of Oretta, LA., she has lived in Vidor since 1961, and she was a retired nurse. She was a member of Caney Creek Open Door Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Oretta Community Cemetery in Oretta, LA. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. Versie is survived by her husband of 57 years Cecil Frederick, son Arden Duane Frederick and wife Robyn all of Vidor, daughters Rebecca Marks and husband Eric of Hamshire, TX., and Cynthia Frederick of Bridge City, brothers Alvin McKnight and Harlan McKnight both of Lumberton, and Donald McKnight of Oakdale, LA., sister Aline Main of Oretta, LA., seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
