Violet Henrietta Tingley

Violet Tingley, formally of Vidor, Texas, passed away August 13, 2014 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, D.W. Tingley in 2007. Violet was born January 17,1918 to Janette King Floyd and Ernest Floyd in Gonzales, Louisiana. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Stephens of Sugar Land, Texas and Sheila Moore of San Antonio, Texas; three grandsons, one granddaughter six great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons. Violet was active in First Baptist Church of Vidor for well over sixty years, where she participated in the church choir and the Rebeccas. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Violet's life will be celebrated by family and friends at a graveside service to be conducted at 2:30 pm at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in Violet's name may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
