Wesley Eugene Blanton

Wesley E. Blanton, 79, of Vidor died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A native of Sulphur Springs, TX, he was a resident of Vidor since 1975. Wesley was a pastor of numerous churches in Texas and Oklahoma over the past 50. He retired from Oakwood Baptist Church in Mauriceville. Wesley was a director of the Bible Baptist Youth Camp at Lake Texoma and served on several committees of local Southern Baptist Chapters. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War Era. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with a private burial to take place Monday, October 14, 2013 in Cleburne, TX. A gathering for family and friends will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, October 11, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home. Wesley is survived by his wife Gladys Blanton of Vidor, TX, son Gene Blanton and his wife Shelia of Dallas, TX, Lynn Blanton of Houston, TX, David Blanton and his wife Sherry of Cleburne, TX, daughter Tina Teinert and her husband Terry of Vidor, TX, identical twin brother Lesley Blanton of Bonham, TX, sister Helen Vincent of South Main, TX, 5 grandchildren Tony Robinson, Heather Fuller, Alton, Cameron and Mckenzie Teinert, 7 great-grandchildren.
