Wilbur Lester Mclain

June 25, 1929 — January 22, 2011

Lester McLain, 81, of Vidor died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Dardanelle, AR, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Lester was a member of First Baptist Church of Vidor and an employee of Bethlehem Steel were he was a Boilermaker. Lester was preceded in death by his parents Ellis B. And Ovie McLain, two sisters Ruth McLain Wommack and Mary McLain Price, brother Johnnie McLain. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Shirley Norton McLain, daughter and son-in-law Summer and Wayne Fregia, grandchildren Brett Fregia, Faith Fregia and Caleb Fregia, brother Ralph McLain and his wife Dorothy of Tomball, TX, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. Lester served his country in the US Army as an Infantry Soldier during the Korean War. He volunteered at the United Christian Care Center in Vidor and he carried the lunches to shut ins from First Baptist Church of Vidor on Wednesday nights. In lieu of flower memorial contributions can be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Vidor 350 N. Main St., Vidor, Texas 77662.
