William Harold “Bill” “Grandpa” Dycus

William H. Dycus, 79, of Vidor died Friday, January 20, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Rutherfordton, NC, he lived in Vidor for the past 6 years. William retired from the US Coast Guards. He served his country during the Korean War and the Vietnam conflict and was a member of the VFW Post 8246. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home. William was preceded in death by his son Doug Dycus. He was survived by his sons Eddie, Tim and Dave Dycus all of Vidor, TX, sister Aylene Dills of Rutherfordton, NC, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
