Willie Edward "Bud" Day, 87, died Wednesday, July 6th, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was a longtime resident of Vidor. Bud served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. during WWII. He loved baseball, wrestling, traveling and riding his lawnmower. He also enjoyed eating breakfast with his buddies, listening to bluegrass music and George Jones. Bud especially loved to spend quality time with his family and grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, July 8,2016 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Bible Baptist Church with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Bud is survived by his loving wife, Verda Day of 63 years, 2 daughters, Patricia Link of Houston, TX and Pamela Day of Vidor, 3 sons, Willie Day and his wife Danette, Tavis Day, and Byron Day and his wife Renee' all of Vidor. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 1 brother, Homer "Little Bud" Day, Jr. and his wife Lou of Buna, TX. Bud was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Day, 2 daughters, Kathy Hegvold and Linda Kissel, a grandson, Michael Link, 3 brothers, Travis "Dooney" Day, Bobby Jack Kelly and Tommy Kelly, and 4sisters, Faye McCullough, Wilma Clay, Inez Kelly and Pearl Smith.
