Amith Baker, Jr.

Amith Baker, Jr., 75, of Vidor died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Port Arthur, he has lived in Vidor for 33 years, and was a retired iron worker. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his son Amith Lynn Baker, Jr. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Baker of Vidor, son Preston Baker and wife Nikie of Lumberton, daughters Helen Ball and husband Troy of Vidor, Deborah Watson and husband Charles of Houston, Betty Lambert, Angele Fontnow and husband William, and Anita Simon and husband Chester all of Vidor, brothers Daniel Baker, Phillip Baker, and J C Bakerall of Lumberton, eighteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren.
