Arthur T. Carter, Sr., 59 of Vidor, TX died Friday, August 4th, 2017 in Beaumont, TX. He was a lifelong resident of Vidor and a 1976 graduate of Vidor High School. Arthur was a Vidor Police Officer and retired as a Lieutenant. Upon his retirement he went on to become a Police Officer with the Vidor Independent School District where he held the rank of Sergeant. Arthur enjoyed hunting and fishing but especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter. He was also an avid Texas Longhorn fan. Visitation will be Sunday, August 6, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Monday, August 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 32 years; Denise Carter, 1 daughter; Jaime Evans and her husband Jonathan of Ridgeland, MS, 2 sons; Arthur Carter, Jr. of Beaumont and Aaron Carter of Vidor. He is also survived by 1 granddaughter; Sadie Evans, 2 sisters; Ann Freasier and her husband Bob of Vidor and Karen Cavel and her husband Lonnie, also of Vidor along with numerous nieces and nephews. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; Arthur Harold and Bernice Carter and 1 brother; Rex Carter.
