Betsy Watts, 92, of Orangefield, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A native of Jackson, MS, she had been a longtime resident of Vidor and a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Vidor. Betsy dedicated many years of service as a secretary at Vidor Elementary, where she was known for her kindness, organization, and the warm smile she shared with students, parents, and staff alike. She had a gentle spirit and a servant’s heart that touched everyone who crossed her path. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—reading a good book, playing cards with friends, and spending precious time with her family. Her greatest happiness came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved baking with them, filling her kitchen with laughter, flour-dusted countertops, and the sweet smell of homemade treats. Those moments will forever be treasured memories. She is survived by her children, Robert Watts Jr. and wife Hilary of Austin, TX; Charlotte Walles and husband Mark of Orangefield, TX; and Michael Watts of Austin, TX. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, four grandchildren “in love,” and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply. Betsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Watts. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
