Betty Aline Vera, 99, of Vidor, passed away on Thursday, July 31st, 2025, at Focused Care Center in Orange, Texas. A native of Beaumont, she was a longtime resident of Vidor and a devoted member of First Baptist Church.
Betty spent much of her life in sales, where her dedication and strong work ethic shone through in everything she did. She was a woman of many talents and passions, including quilting, cooking, needlepoint, and embroidery. Whatever she put her hands or heart to, she did it with unwavering devotion and care. Her warmth, creativity, and quiet strength touched many over the years.
She is survived by her son, Verlon Wright and his wife Sue of Vidor, TX; her stepson, Terry Gene Vera and wife Laura of Sunset, TX; her sister, Martha Thrift and husband Earl of New Waverly, TX; grandchildren Justin Wright and wife Keri of Kountze, TX, and Kurt Wright of Lumberton, TX, Brandon Vera of Fort Worth, TX, Mallory Vera of Fort Worth, TX, and Kayley Vera of Fort Worth, TX; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, W.W. “Mickey” Wright, and her second husband, Manuel Vera Jr..
Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in all who knew her.
