Billy Ray Gilbert

Billy Ray Gilbert, 79, of Vidor died Friday, August 27th, 2021 at his residence. He was a longtime resident of Vidor and was the Owner-Operator of Acme Inc. Billy was very religious and loved to play his guitar and sing, he even wrote his own music, especially Christian and country music, he also loved traveling and being on the road, a favorite spot was always Branson, MO. Billy cherished spending time with family and loved woodworking and carpentry work. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. There will be a visitation Monday August 30th, 2021 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor and a funeral Tuesday August 31st, 2021 beginning at 10:00AM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Interment will follow at Kirbyville Cemetery. Billy is survived by his wife of 62 years Carolyn Gilbert of Vidor, TX, his daughter Sheila Swaim and husband Terry of Vidor, TX, his sons Jack Gilbert and wife Patricia of Beaumont, TX, Kyle Gilbert- Hansen and husband Leif of Atlanta, GA, as well as 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his twin sons Darrell and David Gilbert.
