Bobbie Jean Carson

Bobbie Jean Carson Spera went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2025, after completing her faithful journey.

Bobbie’s life was guided by her deep faith in God and her unwavering love for her family. She was a beacon of hope, strength, and kindness, always showing those around her love and appreciation. Her warm spirit touched countless lives, and she inspired all who knew her to live life to the fullest.

One of Bobbie’s greatest joys was being a grandmother. She truly cherished her grandchildren and lit up with adoration and love whenever they were near.

Bobbie was first married to the love of her life, Edward J. Spera, until his passing in 2000. Later in life, she was married to Wayne Carson, until his passing in 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Richey Jr. and Willie Richey.

She is survived by her loving sons, Edward J. Spera Jr. and his girlfriend Stacy Lonadier. John Patrick Spera and his wife, Eva Spera. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Brett Sullivan and her husband Kyler of Austin, Texas; Patrick Spera and his wife Delaney of Melissa, Texas; Edward “Trooper” Spera of Vidor, Texas; and James Alexander “Alex” Spera and his wife Taryn of Greenville, Texas.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home in Vidor, Texas. On Monday, September 22, 2025, a Holy Rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Alexandria, Louisiana. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Ball, Louisiana.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Amanda McAbee who was a devoted friend for all intents and purposes a granddaughter to Bobbie. 

Bobbie’s legacy of love, faith, and family devotion will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
