Brenda Kay Sims

Brenda Kay Sims, a beloved longtime resident of Vidor, passed away on Saturday, May 20th, 2023. She was a cherished member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and dedicated her life to being a homemaker. Brenda had a passion for baking and decorating cakes, especially for weddings. She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, going bowling, and sharing laughter with loved ones.

Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation, which will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Following the service, Brenda will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Brenda is survived by her children: Scott Sims of Vidor, TX; Spencer and wife Jill Sims of Lumberton, TX; Steve and wife Pamela Sims of Vidor, TX; and Stephanie and husband Benny Springs of Vidor, TX. She is also survived by her siblings: Janet Smith, Dedra Droddy, and Ervin Wright, 11 grandchildren: Braxton Bass, Erin Sims, Jodie Sims, Cody Springs, Madison Sims, Michaela Sims, Joel Sims, Aiden Sims, Brayden Springs, Kyra Sims, Isabela Springs, as well as her great-grandchild.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Rodney Wright and Gladys Smith, her husband James Sims, and her sister Cynthia Sweeney.
