Bruce Michael Lockett, 74, of Vidor, passed away on Saturday, February 10th, 2024, at Vidor Health and Rehab. Born in Houston, TX, Bruce was a beloved member of the Vidor community, where he resided for many years. Bruce served his country with honor and distinction as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War, earning the Purple Heart Medal for his bravery and sacrifice. Following his military service, Bruce dedicated his life to serving others through his ministry as the Pastor of First Pentecostal Church for over 30 years. He touched countless lives with his compassionate leadership and unwavering faith. In addition to his pastoral duties, Bruce served as a VA Representative Advocate, advocating tirelessly for his fellow veterans. He was also the head of Veterans Advocates of Americans, passionately advocating for the rights and welfare of veterans in his community and beyond. Bruce had a deep appreciation for history and was an advocate for local Native American communities. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UPCI Missions in Bruce's honor, reflecting his commitment to spreading the Gospel and supporting missions around the world. Bruce is survived by his children: Joshua Lockett of Vidor, TX; Jonathan Lockett of Silsbee, TX; Jared Lockett of Vidor, TX; Jordan Lockett of Vidor, TX; and Jadon Lockett of Vidor, TX. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Bruce Michael Lockett's legacy of service, faith, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him. May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in the memories of his love and devotion.
