Buddy Medley, 90, of Vidor, TX passed away peacefully at his home on September 25, 2025. Born in Toro, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor.
Buddy was a devoted member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and for 44 years faithfully served as a deacon. His devotion to his church was not only spiritual, but physical. He had a hand in building and/or repairing most of the buildings on the church property along with helping church members and others with personal construction projects.
Buddy was a millwright by trade and retired from Mobil Chemical after 36 years of service. His work ethic was extraordinary and a trait that he passed on to his family.
Buddy enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends. After retirement, he and his late wife, Eunice, began traveling the US, most of the time having a grandchild with them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, bowling, and dominoes with family and friends. He was the patriarch of the Medley family and passed on his knowledge and love to his children and their families.
Buddy’s legacy lives on his family. He is survived by his children, Gary Medley and his wife Penny, Melanie Lindsey, and Jerry Medley and his wife Leni. He is also survived by his grandchildren, James and Brooke Medley, Alan and Brittney Medley, Curtis and Jennifer Lindsey, Calvin Medley, Kaitlyn and Marcus James, and Cameron Medley. He was blessed to have met all eight of his great-grandchildren.
Buddy was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Eunice Simmons Medley, his birth parents, Philip and Sudie Zagar,adoptive parents, Henry and Lizzie Medley, two brothers and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pine Forest Baptist Church, 4800 N. Main St, Vidor, TX 77662 for future construction projects.
