Burdette Edward Oldbury Sr., 94, of Mauriceville died Friday, June 18th, 2021 at his home. He was longtime resident of Mauriceville and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He retired after a successful career as a self employed carpenter. Wood working was his passion but also loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. His visitation will be Monday, June 21, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. His funeral service will be Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 10:00 AM with the internment to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. He is survived by his sons Burdette Edward and and wife Elaine Oldbury Jr. of Mauriceville, TX, Donald Ray Oldbury of Mauriceville, TX, Robert Dale and wife JoEllen Oldbury of Mauriceville, TX, siblings Delmer Oldbury of New Braunfels, TX, Joissine Tucker of Vidor, TX, Nelwyn Marion of Vidor, TX, Marshall Blaine Oldbury of Vidor, TX, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother Beulah Oldbury, wife Patricia Rachel Oldbury, sisters Modesta Willey, Freddie Peck, brothers Dean Oldbury, Otha "Blue" Oldbury, and daughter in law Nina Lou Smith Oldbury.
