Carl David Caldwell, 73, of Vidor, passed away on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.
A lifelong resident of Vidor, Carl was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He later dedicated 46 and a half years to his career at Westrock Papermill in Evadale before retiring. Carl found peace and purpose in the outdoors—whether it was boating, ranching, or firing up his tractor for just about any excuse. He also enjoyed watching classic westerns, especially when surrounded by his loved ones. Above all, his greatest pride and joy was spending time with his family.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Teri Caldwell of Buna, TX; his children: Robert Dishner, Paul Caldwell, and Carl James Caldwell, all of Vidor, TX, and Amanda Rinehart of Dallas, TX; his sister, Jamie Ritchey of Houston, TX; and his brother, Peter Caldwell of Teague, TX. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Alyssa Parker, Ashleigh Parker, Aidan Caldwell, and Colton Caldwell; great-grandchildren: Ryder Bruce and Axel Bruce; niece Shelley Ritchey; and great-niece Stephanie Smitherman.
Carl will be remembered for his steady presence, deep devotion to family, and the quiet strength that shaped a life of service, hard work, and love.
