Carol Ann Gates

Carol Ann Gates, 73, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Christus Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was a devoted resident of Vidor throughout her life. Carol was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Vidor, where she found great joy in participating in bible study with her church group. She was a compassionate and hardworking individual who touched many lives during her career. Professionally, Carol served as the executive secretary of nursing at Beaumont Medical and Surgical Hospital. She also held the position of Executive Secretary for the warden at Larry Gist Unit. Carol's dedication and exceptional work ethic left a lasting impact on those she worked with. Outside of her professional life, Carol loved spending time outdoors doing yard work and caring for her garden. She was an avid animal lover and generously donated her time and resources to the humane society and various other organizations, supporting causes close to her heart. Carol is survived by her loving children Kerri Clark and her husband Preston of Montgomery, TX, Brandi Gates Humberson and her husband Bengie of Vidor, TX, and William Neal Gates of Vidor, TX, 6 grandchildren Meagan, Lee, Peyton, Colby, Holt, and Laci, great grandchildren Lucy, Cora, Juniper, Aiden and Laila. Her kindness and love will be dearly missed by her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Carol's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
