Casey Dawn Hastings, 19, of Bridge City, TX died Monday, April 30, 2007 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Galveston, TX, she was a longtime resident of Bridge City before moving to Nederland six months ago. Casey was a freshman at Lamar University in Beaumont. She graduated from Bridge City High School as a honor student in 2006. She was a member of the National Honor Society, a cheerleader and played multiple sports for Bridge City. Casey recently made the cheerleading squad for the South East Texas Demon’s Arena Football Team from Orange. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007 at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home. Casey is survived by her mother and stepfather Kathy and Tony Hernandez of Vidor, TX, father Gary Hastings of Bridge City, TX, sister Ashley and her husband Jorge Mejia of Bridge City, TX, brother Koby Hastings of Santa Fe, TX, grandparents Elaine Lout of Vidor, TX, John and Belle Richard of Orange, TX, Martha Hill of Bridge City, TX, George and Ann Hernandez of Silsbee, TX, 2 aunts Liz Carlisle of Beaumont, TX, Sue Roberts of Vidor, TX, 2 nieces Ashlyn and Natalie.
