Charles Edgar Hemphill

Charles “Chuck” Edgar Hemphill, 51, of Vidor, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 23, 2022, in Beaumont, TX with his family surrounding him. Chuck is survived by his parents, Kenneth & Linda Hemphill of Vidor; three siblings, Tamela Lee & husband Geoffrey of Longville, La., Randy Hemphill & wife Shannon of Vidor, and Jan Hemphill Dodson (“Little Sis”) of Beaumont; niece, Lauren Lee Peterson and husband Cole of Shreveport, five nephews, Devan Lewis of Vidor, Trevor Hemphill of Vidor, Nicolas Lee and wife Kaylee of Austin, Reagan Hemphill of Austin, and Jacob Lee of Longville; great nieces, Emma Lewis, Alexis Lewis, and Faith Hemphill; six uncles; seven aunts; sixteen cousins; and many very dear lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sampson and Mary Hemphill, Charles and Charlene Booth; and his uncle, Edgar Hemphill. Chuck was born in Beaumont, Tx. and graduated from Vidor High School. After graduation, he served our country proudly in The United States Air Force. He was deployed to Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm and then to Okinawa, Japan. Oh, the stories he told about his time in the military! He always had a captive audience. After the military, Chuck worked for many years as an engineer and train master for BNSF railroad, where he had many more “adventures” to tell about! Chuck was the funniest guy with a huge heart. If you were around Chuck you were laughing and listening to his stories!! We still don’t know the whole truth about the “bear” story! Chuck loved big and was truly empathetic toward anyone hurting or in need. Chuck loved the Lord and prayed out loud to Him in his final days. We are so thankful for the peace we have in knowing he is in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. There will be a visitation from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday, October 27th, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Friday October, 28th, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Interment will follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor. Billy Werner, Michael Westman, Blake Bradley, Daryl Bell, Ricky Chesser and James Hock will be serving as Pallbearers.
