Dan Robert Kirk, Sr.

Dan R. Kirk, 79, of Vidor died Monday, March 20, 2006 at Christus St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. He was born in Beaumont, TX, he had lived in Rose City before moving to Vidor in 1950. Dan was an Electrician with I.B.E.W. Local Union #479 and served his country during WWII in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor and a member of the American Legion in Beaumont. Dan was the first president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home. Dan is survived by his wife Julia “Judy” Kirk of Vidor, TX, son: Dan R. Kirk, Jr and his wife Martha of Vidor, TX, daughters: Dianne Jackson of Vidor, TX, Marsha Green and her husband Brice of Aransas Pass, TX, Karen Abshire and her husband Scott of Evergreen , CO, Brother: Albert Kirk of Rose City, TX, 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
