Daniel Guy Mayea, a lifelong resident of Vidor, passed away on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, Texas. He was a proud Navy veteran, a retired member of Pipefitters Local Union #195, and a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor.
Daniel was known for his big heart, sharp wit, and even sharper sense of humor. A true connoisseur of sarcasm, he never met a stranger—just a friend he hadn't talked to yet. He loved dancing almost as much as he loved fishing, and he could talk for hours with anyone willing to listen. But above all, Daniel cherished his family. His pride and joy were “his girls,” and he never missed an opportunity to dote on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought so much happiness to his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Linda Mayea of Vidor, TX; his daughters Debra Doyel and husband Kevin of Louisville, KY, Stephanie LeBlanc and husband Joe of Vidor, TX, and Lynnette Carter and husband Troy of Vidor, TX; his brother Ronnie Mayea of Vidor, TX; and his sister Diana McDaniel and husband Lynn of Orange, TX.
Daniel was also a proud grandfather to Maggie Little, Sarah Guarnere, Ashley Littlepage, Summer Carpenter, Madelyn Combs, Abigail LeBlanc, and Stephen Gandy Jr., and a great-grandfather to eleven great-grandchildren who brought light and laughter to his days. And of course, he leaves behind his faithful four-legged companion, CoCo.
Daniel’s presence, his stories, and his unmistakable laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
